Discovering the Little Things that Make Us Happy
Life is full of little wonders that can make us happy. The sound of a baby’s laughter, a good book, the comforting smell of a favorite old sweatshirt, and the warmth from a cup of hot tea are simple pleasures that can easily put smiles on our faces. These “little things” are easily accessible to us and can be sources for finding happiness. A key to doing so is taking the time to put those rose colored glasses from childhood back on so you can easily find the joy in all the “little things” that life has to offer.Finding a puppy rummaging through the laundry basket, trying on that perfect shade of lipstick, or discovering the extra change you left in your back pocket can turn into moments of delight. Like kids digging in the sandbox for buried trinkets, we may even begin to experience happiness when we engage in the seemingly mundane. Figuring out a software program can feel like deciphering a treasure map, and that first sip of tea in the morning can taste like a forbidden delicacy. Swaying to music playing on the radio can turn into an interpretive jig, riding a bike can seem like flying to the moon, and getting a phone call from that special someone can feel like winning the lottery. A pickup game of basketball becomes an exciting match among champions, and observing an elderly couple walking hand in hand can turn into a meditation on peace and contentment.
When we begin rediscovering that the little things in life can make us happy, we naturally want to share this joy with others. We may gush over a friend when we run into them unexpectedly, praise a street musician for their talents, or blow bubbles for the neighborhood kids to chase. We may even start to think of the little things we can do to make other people happy, which in turn makes us happy all over again. There is an endless supply of little things and little moments that can make us happy. All we have to do is look for them, and they’ll magically start to appear. Your path for happiness in life is an important part for your health & well-being, be sure to enjoy the process. (DailyOM)

is the Purpose of your Body?
Kevin Donka
You are probably aware that the smallest unit of life in your body is called a cell. What you may not know is that you have several hundred trillion cells in your body. To give you an idea just how big that number is, there are only about 8 and ½ billion people on the entire planet. Now the amazing thing about this is that all of those hundreds of trillions of cells must work together harmoniously in order for you to be healthy and happy.
Think of an orchestra. Is there a difference between what you hear in the warm-up and the concert? Of course there is! Even though each musician is playing amazing things during the warm-up, it is totally dis-organized and sounds like a big mess. Without organization, there is no common purpose, no harmony. But then the conductor steps up to the podium and begins organizing the musicians; directing them in a cooperative and purposeful manner that brings about harmony.
Did you know that no part of your body (no cell, tissue, organ or organ system) works the way it is meant to unless it is CONNECTED to your brain? Did you know that the way your body is CONNECTED to your brain is through your NERVE SYSTEM? So now, you are probably thinking that your brain is like the conductor of the orchestra, right? Not so fast…did you know that dead bodies also have brains, cells and nerves? So why don’t they work? What is the difference between a live body and a dead body? The answer is simple.
There is an ENERGY present in a live body that is absent in a dead body.
This Energy has been called your Vital Force, Life Force or any other of a dozen or so names. We simply call it your Life Energy and it is what gives you LIFE! Your Life Energy is the ORGANIZER of all of the different parts of your body; the conductor if you will. It uses your brain and nerve system tools to coordinate and ORGANIZE all of your parts to work together harmoniously and bring about health and happiness.
But, in order to accomplish its task of keeping everything ORGANIZED, your Life Energy requires a clear CONNECTION between your brain and your body. And, because of the intimate CONNECTION between your spine and your nerve system, you must also maintain a properly aligned and fully functioning spine in order to maintain your clear neurological CONNECTION, and that is what chiropractic care is really all about!
It is about restoring and maintaining the alignment and function of your spine, so that your brain/body CONNECTION is re-established and maintained, as well as the normal flow of your Intelligent and Organizing Life Energy, so that it can resume the task of purposefully ORGANIZING all of your parts to work together harmoniously and bring about healing.
The purpose of chiropractic care is to help you MAXIMIZE the expression of your LIFE ENERGY in your body!

Shifting the Mood
We all have days when we are faced with chores, errands, or responsibilities that we don’t want to do. At times like these, it’s easy to get into a bad mood and stay in one as we tackle these tasks. However, given the fact that our bad mood will not change the fact that we have to do these things, and will most likely make things worse, we could also try to shift our attitude. Many wise people have pointed out that it is not so much what we do as it is how we do it that makes the difference in our lives. It’s important when we’re facing something that’s really hard for us, whether it’s doing taxes, paying bills, or visiting a challenging relative, that we lovingly support ourselves through the process. The more supported we feel, the easier it is to open our minds to the idea that we could change our way of looking at the situation. In truth, most of the chores we don’t like doing are intimately intertwined with our blessings. When we remember this, we feel gratitude, which makes it hard to stay in a dark mood.
We can shift our attitude by considering how much we love our home as we clean it and how lucky we are to have a roof over our head. Any task can be transformed from a burden to a necessary aspect of caring for something we love. All we have to do is shift our perspective, and our attitude follows shortly behind. (Daily OM)
